Changes to your Household / Tenancy

Households grow and change due to changes within your home.

If there is a change to your household and who is living in it, please let us know in writing so we can keep our records accurate and up to date.

This is important to ensure that your tenancy rights are protected and for us to provide the best service to you.

There are many different ways that your household or circumstances could change during your tenancy.

  • Add someone to your tenancy.
  • Remove someone from your tenancy
  • Update household members (add or remove)
  • Transfer your tenancy (Assignation)
  • Succeed to the tenancy (upon death of tenant)
  • Sublet your home
  • Take in lodgers
  • Change your name
By keeping your information current, we can ensure that we are providing the best services to you and your family, and that all of your needs are being met.

For example…who we have on our records as part of your household can affect who is entitled to take over your tenancy after you die (succession of tenancy).

If there is anything you are not clear on and / or need further information, please get in touch with your Housing Officer.
